happy hallowe'en
Earlier this week, mediocre mum launched her pumpkin carving competition. How could we not join in? Although Big M is a little bit too young to understand hallowe’en, we had already decided to have a pumpkin lantern. On Tuesday we went to the shops and chose a lovely little “punking” to take home with us.
We scooped out the seeds. And when I say we I mean I. Big M didn’t want to touch the pumpkin innards. I’m guessing she won’t want to be a surgeon when she grows up…
I then asked Big M if our pumpkin should be happy, sad, scary, or funny. She chose happy.
When I had cut out its face, we put the candle inside. I lit it, and Big M immediately burst into song. Happy Birthday, in fact. Because that’s what you do when you light candles. Obviously.
