family mother nature Tweet Mother Nature is a clever old bird isn’t she? In January, the darkness of winter seems to have been here for ever. Christmas trees no longer sparkle. Everything looks a bit, well, dull. Until you start to look. And if you look carefully, you will find teeny tiny signs of life. And you will remember that the sun will return. Yup she’s a clever old thing that Mother Nature. Apart from one thing: teething. Surely there’s got to be a better way? Poor old Jaunuary gets a lot of flack for being dull, dark and depressing. Reply tiddlyompompom January 19, 2011 at 7:54 pm it does, and actually the last few days have been gorgeous. I am starting to like January 🙂 Reply Jennypaulin January 19, 2011 at 1:33 pm I was looking at some new shoots yesterday while I was out and about and getting glad that spring will soon be upon us again? You have put up some lovely photos and I agree that teething is not one of mother natures finest things! Reply tiddlyompompom January 19, 2011 at 7:53 pm it's lovely finding signs of spring around isn't it? I have to keep reminding myself that it IS only January and that it's still winter… Reply Baby Genie January 19, 2011 at 1:36 pm Gorgeous pictures, am with you on teething, 2.5 years old and still drooling like a loon!! But your photos are gorgeous. I wish I had some signs of life in my garden but we only moved here last June and I didn't have time to look after the garden last year – guess what my project is this year??? 🙂 Reply tiddlyompompom January 19, 2011 at 7:51 pm same here. we only moved in in april and apart from hacking things back I have done nothing. very fun watching things pop up that we didn't know were there 🙂 Reply thekingandeye January 19, 2011 at 2:39 pm It is lovely to see the new growth 🙂 As for teething, I reckon the babies born with teeth got it right!! Jen Reply tiddlyompompom January 19, 2011 at 7:50 pm there's got to be a better way to get the teeth 🙂 Reply Anonymous January 19, 2011 at 3:12 pm oooh the Jasmine's out! must go look at mine. I can't quite get my had around how to get the teeth in the mouth after breastfeeding without the cutting them part. Maybe Mother Nature couldn't either…bless Calpol is all I can say! Reply tiddlyompompom January 19, 2011 at 7:49 pm yes, good point, I would not want to be feeding a baby with a full set of nashers… Reply Heather Lucas January 19, 2011 at 6:14 pm Great photos. As for the teething, I feel your pain as we have the last few teeth coming through here. Can't wait for it to all be over. You're right, there has to be a better way. Reply tiddlyompompom January 19, 2011 at 7:48 pm ouch, the last teeth are awful 🙁 hope they're done soon Reply helloitsgemma January 19, 2011 at 7:36 pm beautiful, great collection of photos Reply tiddlyompompom January 19, 2011 at 7:48 pm thank you 🙂 Reply Abby January 19, 2011 at 9:10 pm Oooh, I love the second one, beautiful! Love the condensation one especially … you really get a feel for that hot/cold juxtaposition. Reply tiddlyompompom January 20, 2011 at 11:36 am fortunately the condensation was on the outside 🙂 Reply Kerry January 20, 2011 at 12:23 am What a brilliant take on the theme and brilliant pictures xx Reply tiddlyompompom January 20, 2011 at 11:36 am thanking you kindly 🙂 Reply imperfectpages January 21, 2011 at 4:44 pm Lovely photos. I haven't seen many green shoots round our way yet so this cheered me up. My husband is the only one in our house not being troubled by tooth growth at the moment – I can see why it bothers the kids so much as my new wisdom tooth is doing my head in. Reply tiddlyompompom January 21, 2011 at 8:22 pm ow, wisdom teeth are NASTY 🙁 hope they don't give you too much more trouble Leave a Reply Cancel Reply Name* Email* Website Notify me of follow-up comments by email.
