I found this great idea. Basically, you make a list of 101 things that you would like to achieve in 1001 days (about 2.75 years).

I like lists.

I love to do lists.

This is like heaven for me…

1. Go back to Dublin to catch up with old friends

2. Use our slow cooker at least once a month

3. Get better at doing the ironing on a regular basis

4. Keep on top of the laundry

5. Grow some of our own vegetables

6. Get Big M to eat an apple

7. Get Big M to eat any fruit for that matter

8. Complete a full sized knitted garment for me.

9. Wear the said full sized knitted garment

10. Buy a sewing machine

11. Teach myself to sew

12. Move Big M into a big girl’s bed

13. Do some form of exercise on a semi regular basis

14. Be better at phoning friends for a chat

15. Get a flat stomach

16. Get a cleaner

17. Keep the car clean inside and outside

18. Go on a family holiday

19. Go to the Olympics

20. Go to the Paralympics

21. Use a baby sitter regularly so me and my man can go out on our own

22. Put all the photos of the kids into photo albums

23. Go to London for a weekend

24. Have a kid free weekend

25. Decorate at least one room in the new house

26. Go on my photography course and learn how to take better photos

27. Take more photos

28. Get a digital SLR

29. Get wormery up and running properly

30. Practise the piano and learn to play at least five songs properly

31. Get an iphone

32. See more of my niece

33. Create a piece of family art for the new house

34. Teach the kids to swim

35. Go to the beach

36. Join a book club

37. Use the library on a regular basis

38. Wean myself off the baby monitor, at least for Big M

39. Keep bedroom tidy

40. Plan family meals in advance rather that ten minutes before the Hungry Bad Man strikes

41. Use one diary consistently, rather than have a work one and a home one

42. Post birthday cards on time

43. Keep address book up to date

44. Water plants before they look half dead

45. Knit a winter hat/gloves/scarf for the kids before it gets so cold their hands turn blue

46. Sew gloves onto elastic so all that effort doesn’t go to waste

47. Stop biting nails

48. Have a pedicure at least once a month

49. Get my hair cut every eight weeks

50. Find a hair cut that I can actually be bothered to recreate and that doesn’t take half an hour

51. Dye my hair to disguise the grey :-(

52. Wear my contact lenses more

53. Get some nice underwear that isn’t maternity or for breastfeeding

54. Devise a career plan

55. Find fun, cheap days out within an hour’s drive from home

56. Win the lottery

57. Get a new mattress

58. Go to France on holiday

59. Switch to low energy light bulbs

60. Decide which school we want the kids to go to

61. Use my evenings more productively

62. Listen to more music

63. See my man playing in a gig whenever I can

64. Take my kids to a firework display

65. Take the kids to a zoo

66. Drink more water

67. Make a reusable, non chocolate filled advent calendar that can become part of our family christmas tradition

68. Have a regular sort out and take things to charity shops/throw away/recycle as appropriate

69. Blog about how much or how little of this list I have completed once a month

70. Grow our own herbs and use them in our cooking

71. Remember to take my medication at the beginning of the day

72. Drink at least one of the bottles of bubbly we got when the Big M was born

73. Get a new laptop (preferably a mac…)

74. Learn to make a tasty dairy free cake

75. Go to Scotland

76. Get some wellies

77. Walk where possible rather than use the car

78. Have no plastic carrier bags whatsoever

79. Play my flute more than the current twice a year at school concerts

80. Learn to delegate more

81. Complete the baby books for both kids

82. Learn to pick up a dropped stitch

83. Have a barbecue in our own garden with friends

84. Reply to emails/texts immediately

85. Buy a proper dining table and chairs

86. Teach myself to crochet

87. Use up some of my stash before I buy any more

88. Have at least one family day per weekend

89. Get a good photo of the four of us

90. File lesson plans and resources immediately rather than leave in a pile for months waiting to be put away

91. Keep desk clear

92. Weed the garden on a regular basis

93. Go to bed before I fall asleep on the sofa

94. Use my audible credits every month

95. Remember to use the coupons we get sent, rather than leave them stuck to the fridge door

96. Go to a Twenty20 cricket match

97. Do the Race for Life and run the whole way

98. Comment on blogs more

99. Be better at replying to people who comment on my blog

100. Find out more about our family history so I can tell the kids as they grow up

101. Tell my kids and my man I love them every single day.

So, I officially started this challenge on the 3rd April, 2010, which means I have until 29th December 2012 to complete it. Best get going then…
